ANSYS GRANTA Corrosion Evaluation for Offshore Pipeline, Indonesia

The key challenge in this project was selecting materials for an offshore pipeline system that could endure harsh environmental conditions, including high salinity and fluctuating temperatures, while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Offshore environments pose a significant risk of corrosion and material degradation, which can lead to increased maintenance and operational costs. By employing Ansys Granta, I conducted a comprehensive analysis of various alloys and polymers, focusing on mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. This approach allowed me to identify durable materials that enhanced the pipeline's longevity and reliability, while also optimizing costs and reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
